Dashboard Guide for Educators

Educator Dashboard & Classroom Roster Guide

Welcome to the BootUp PD educator platform! This guide explains how to set up your account details, invite students to your classroom, monitor your roster, and manage student accounts.

1. Setting Up & Updating Your Profile Details

Before sharing your classroom with students, make sure your educator profile information is up to date:

  • Your School Name and Grade Level determine what information auto-populates for your students when they register.

  • How to update: Navigate to your Educator Dashboard, open your Profile Settings, and update your School Name or Grade Level fields before saving. Future student registrations will automatically reflect these changes.

2. Finding Your Classroom Registration Code

Once your profile is set, look at the Classroom Registration Code banner at the top of your Educator Dashboard:

  • Your Unique Code: A randomized code (e.g., BOOTUP-XYZ123) assigned specifically to your account.

  • Your Direct Link: A pre-formatted URL containing your code (e.g., [https://bootuppd.org/student-registration/?code=BOOTUP-XYZ123](https://bootuppd.org/student-registration/?code=BOOTUP-XYZ123)).

3. Inviting Students to Your Classroom

To add students to your roster automatically:

  1. Copy your Direct Link or your Classroom Code from your dashboard.

  2. Share the link or code with your students.

  3. When students use your share link, the system will automatically fill in your code, school name, and grade level, locking those fields for accuracy.

  4. Manual Entry Option: If a student visits the registration page without your link, they can still type your classroom code in manually, and the system will correctly assign them to your roster.

4. Managing Your Classroom Roster

Right below your educator info banner on your dashboard, you will find the Your Classroom Roster collapsible section:

  • Student Count: Displays the total number of active students currently mapped to your classroom.

  • Roster Details: View each student's name, email/username, associated school, grade level, and registration date at a glance.

5. Resetting Student Passwords

If a student forgets their password or needs a reset, you can handle it directly from your roster table:

  1. Expand the Your Classroom Roster section on your dashboard.

  2. Locate the student in the table.

  3. Type the New Password into the inline password box next to their name.

  4. Click Update Student Password to instantly update their credentials.
