Why does the website look different or change over time?
Our new website is actively being updated and improved as we finalize curriculum organization, account systems, and resource integration. Some pages, links, and course structures may change as we continue refining the experience for educators.
I created an account, but it disappeared or my course enrollment was removed.
We
sincerely apologize for any confusion or technical issues some users may have experienced, including account access or accounts being unintentionally deleted. We are currently completing updates and synchronization across parts of the platform, and some users may temporarily experience account inconsistencies. If this occurs, please contact
info@bootuppd.org and our team will assist you as quickly as possible.
Why do some resources open on a different website?
Some curriculum resources and legacy materials are still connected to previous BootUp systems or external learning platforms while migration is completed. We understand this may feel confusing and are actively working toward a more unified experience.
Why do some curriculum links all go to the same page?
Some curriculum navigation pathways are still being refined. Our goal is for teachers to easily select a curriculum area and immediately access the appropriate grade-level lessons and resources.
I'm new to BootUp. Where should I begin?
We recommend starting with the curriculum filters on the
Our Curriculum page to explore resources by selecting the desired grade level(s) under "Category" and curriculum under "Tags". We are continuing to simplify navigation to make finding lessons and implementation easier for educators new to BootUp.
Why do some courses not show grade levels?
Some curriculum pages and courses are still being updated with additional information, including grade bands, implementation guidance, and resource descriptions.
Why does scrolling sometimes feel difficult or inconsistent?
Certain curriculum pages currently include multiple navigation bars, sliders, or pagination features while updates are underway. We are actively improving the user experience and appreciate your patience.
What is the difference between CS+Elementary, CS+ELA, and AI+Science?
CS+Elementary was created by a curriculum team at the University of California San Diego. It integrates language development and computational thinking. In partnership with UC San Diego, BootUp is expanding access to the CS+Elementary curriculum to better support multilingual learners through engaging, inclusive, and language-rich computer science learning experiences. Note the link to this curriculum is outside of BootUp’s website:
https://sites.google.com/view/csplus/home. Contact
info@bootuppd.org to learn more about professional development with this curriculum.
CS+ELA (CS+English Language Arts) is a BootUp curriculum integrating CS concepts with literacy. This curriculum helps students develop literacy, communication, storytelling, and critical thinking skills alongside computing concepts.
AI+Science combines artificial intelligence, data science, and science learning experiences to help students explore how AI and technology connect to the real world through inquiry, exploration, and problem-solving.
Each curriculum is designed to support engaging, equitable, and relevant learning experiences for K–8 students while giving educators flexible ways to bring computer science and AI into their classrooms.
Do teachers need to create student accounts?
Student accounts are optional and are not required to teach or access BootUp's curriculum and resources. Educators can still use BootUp lessons, activities, and instructional materials in classroom settings without creating individual student accounts.
When available, student accounts will primarily be recommended for grades 3+ to support interactive activities, personalized learning experiences, and future classroom features.
Student account functionality is still being finalized and is not currently available. We will share additional information and setup guidance once student accounts are ready to launch. Please stay tuned for updates on BootUp's
website.
Do students need school email addresses to set up a student account?
Not necessarily. We understand some districts restrict student email access and we are continuing to improve account options and implementation flexibility for schools and districts. Student account functionality is still being finalized and is not currently available. We will share additional information and setup guidance once student accounts are ready to launch. Please stay tuned for updates on BootUp's
website.
Is there a teacher dashboard for managing student accounts?
Expanded classroom management and teacher support features are currently being explored and developed as part of the continued of BootUp’s
website. Future features may include tools that help educators organize classroom activities, support student learning experiences, monitor progress, and streamline instructional implementation.
At this time, BootUp’s primary focus is providing educators with easy access to high-quality instructional resources, lesson materials, curriculum guides, and professional learning supports without requiring teachers to build extensive materials on their own. The platform is designed to help reduce preparation time while giving educators flexible options for classroom implementation across different grade levels and instructional settings.
BootUp curriculum resources can be implemented without student accounts, allowing teachers to introduce computer science and AI learning experiences in ways that best fit their classroom needs and district requirements.
When available, student accounts will help support more interactive and personalized learning experiences for students. Potential benefits may include:
- easier access to interactive coding activities and projects
- opportunities for students to save and revisit work
- personalized learning pathways and progress tracking
- increased student engagement through digital learning experiences
- easier classroom organization and activity management for teachers
- expanded opportunities for collaboration, creativity, and computational thinking practice
Why are some buttons, bubbles, or sidebar items not clickable?
Some interface elements may still be under development or connected to features that are not yet fully enabled. We are actively reviewing and resolving these issues. To report specific website issues please contact
info@bootuppd.org.
I noticed text or messages that seem out of place in a lesson or course.
Some resources are still undergoing final editing and cleanup as content is migrated and updated. Thank you for your patience as we complete these refinements. To report specific website issues please contact
