As the Director of Education for the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA), Shaina is dedicated to empowering computer science educators and fostering a vibrant community. She leads the development, support, and facilitation of impactful programs and professional learning experiences for CSTA members and chapter leaders. Her work encompasses managing student and teacher standards, creating innovative professional learning opportunities, cultivating local chapter leadership, and overseeing critical fellowships that advance the field.
With 20 years of experience in education, Shaina brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Prior to CSTA, she served as the Technology Applications/STEM Program Director, where she significantly expanded equitable access to STEM and computer science instruction for over 65,000 students in Aldine ISD. In this capacity, she spearheaded the implementation of computer science and STEM programs, instruction, and events for students from PK-12th grade.
Shaina is also a passionate advocate for computer science education, actively contributing as a member of the CS4TX, and the Past President of CSTA Greater Houston.
In her personal time, Shaina enjoys pursuing her passions for yoga, painting, cooking, and spending quality moments with her family.
