Tenisha Harrington
Tenisha has a passion for teaching and learning. She believes that it is important to equip teachers and students with valuable resources that will prepare them for success. Tenisha’s motivation comes from knowing that her work truly impacts the lives of children.
Tenisha has over 16 years of teaching experience in public education. In
this role, she also enjoyed providing content support and ongoing instructional coaching to teachers. Tenisha has worked with local community partners teaching STEM classes to students in grades K-5 during the summers. She is excited to provide professional development, offer model teaching and encourage educators in their quest to provide computer science and coding instruction. Tenisha looks forward to witnessing the look of success and satisfaction on teachers’ and students’ faces after accomplishing their goals.
Tenisha earned a bachelor’s degree in History from Mississippi Valley State University. While teaching, she earned a Master of Education in Elementary Education and a Master of Education in School Counseling both from Mississippi College. Tenisha has been recognized for her outstanding work and commitment as an educator. She received the Greater Jackson Metro Teacher Award, Outstanding Educator of the Year- Parents for Public Schools Award, Superintendent Golden Bowtie of Excellence Award and an Outstanding Teacher Recognition presented by U.S. House of Representatives Congressman Bennie Thompson.
Tenisha is married to Lester. She is a proud veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve. Tenisha enjoys listening to music, traveling and watching movies. For fun, Tenisha enjoys hosting competitive game nights for close family and friends.
