
Carlos León
Carlos began his career as a bilingual first grade teacher in Minneapolis. Over the past decade, he has worked as an elementary math instructional coach, autonomous school district administrator, and computer science (CS) curriculum and teacher professional development instructional designer. Most recently, Carlos served as Senior Director of Educational Impact and Learning at Mouse, a STEM education NYC nonprofit. During these four years, Carlos led CS education research projects and worked with CSforALL, NYC DOE, ScratchEd,Code.org, Google, and CSTA to prepare over 10,000 K-12 educators to teach CS using inquiry-based and culturally responsive teaching methods.
Carlos holds an Ed.M. in Technology, Innovation & Education from Harvard University and A.B. in Literature from Georgetown University.
In the wild, you may spot Carlos watching birds, traveling post-Soviet states or contemplating how to stop his cat from breaking nice things.
