Dr. Kris Campbell has studied mathematics and computer science academically, including earning a doctorate in computing where he focused on creating geometric methods to analyze medical images. His career included several years as a software and systems engineer implementing and testing algorithms run on large-scale, parallel, near real-time processing systems. He has used coding tools from Matlab to Python to R to Javascript to C++ and more to solve challenging, technical problems. Dr. Campbell credits his technical career success to the early foundations in math and computer science that he was given both at home and in school.

Kris is passionate about ensuring that every child is given the opportunity for technical success through learning foundational skills in problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, grit, and collaboration. He joined the BootUp PD board in order to help the organization achieve its mission of giving every child this opportunity. Dr. Campbell has been on several nonprofit boards, and is currently the program director at a conflict resolution nonprofit where he teaches communication skills for working through conflicts while maintaining connection and relationship. He understands the importance, value, and necessity of giving nonprofits a sustainable foundation so they can achieve their mission while adapting to the reality of a rapidly changing world.
