K-6 Professional Development Facilitator
Kathy White has over 20 years of teaching experience and was most recently the Computer Science Specialist at Marysville School District in Washington where she taught K-5 CS curriculum, creative computing, and physical computing. She has served as a Code.org Computer Science Fundamentals Facilitator, introducing teachers to coding and developing plans for district implementation. She has led over 40 workshops and reached over 600 teachers! Kathy is a lifelong learner and has presented on integrating technology in the classroom, robots, and coding at NCCE, ISTE, and Google Summit.
Kathy believes it is critical for students to be exposed to coding in a fun, connected, and meaningful way to engage and encourage students to pursue this lifetime skill that will help them navigate the new digital world. At BootUp, Kathy partners with teachers and districts to integrate CS and computational thinking into districts in a thoughtful and meaningful way.
