BootUp Professional Development
BootUp prepares teachers and district instructional coaches to teach elementary computer science through long-term professional development, model teaching, and coaching.
Now, Coding is Elementary
BootUp is dedicated to empowering elementary teachers and students through computer science and creating equitable computer science programs in underrepresented and underserved communities. Since 2015, BootUp has worked with over 475 elementary schools in fifteen states, directly impacting over 1,000 educators and 150,000 students.
We provide in-person and virtual professional development, coaching, and resources that prepare teachers to facilitate coding projects in Scratch and ScratchJr. Students are inspired through creative and interactive lessons that allow them to explore their personal interests with code.
Getting Started with Virtual Professional Development
We understand the uncertainty of when and how schools will resume in-person learning. Although we have research that supports our assertion that teachers and students love our in-person sessions, we have modified these sessions to work in a virtual setting without compromising our ability to model and discuss the same CS concepts, practices, standards, and pedagogies. We can work with your district to get started virtually!
