Savita Raj serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for BootUp Professional Development. She leads the BootUp team in advancing the organization’s mission of empowering elementary school teachers and students through computer science and in creating equitable computer science programs in underrepresented and underserved communities.

Prior to joining BootUp, Savita served as Chief Program Officer for the Girl Scouts of the USA where she was responsible for defining and executing the organization’s program strategy and for driving the development of inclusive, innovative, and relevant national programs that fulfill the Girl Scout mission.

Savita also served as the Executive Director for the Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering for almost a decade. In this role, she led the development of creative STEM initiatives including the publication of bilingual comic books, the design and operation of mobile museums filled with hands-on activities, and annual STEM competitions.

An engineer by training, Savita has worked with nonprofits that support youth empowerment and engagement in STEM for more than 20 years. She is recognized as a leader in out-of-school STEM education and has served on nonprofit boards nationally and in her hometown of Austin, Texas.
